ARMOUREDis an audiovisual installation in which four security monitors come down from the ceiling. Through them we can track a character’s life. The main role is played by the author who is constantly recorded by four video cameras.

This work is about the control as a result of the search for security and how this becomes a repressive factor for the individual, who as a result becomes spiritually diminished. Inspired by the panoptic vision, this work is a tribute to George Orwel’s ‘1984’, George Lucas’ ‘THX’, Ray Bradbury-François Truffaut’s ‘Farenheit 451’, Aldoux Huxley’s ‘Brave new world’... On the other hand this work offers another interpretation; a recurrent cleansing of the author’s image*.

The work becomes claustrophobic due to the continuous presence of the author. This overwhelming presence comes from the need of making himself sick of his own vision. If we want to understand this irrepressible desire, we must quote a text on his work written previously by Félix Fernández,; ‘Inner communication stage. Detailed search of my non recognizable me. Curious anxiety to see what everyone else can see’. Finally, the expressed wish is fulfilled and discomfort does not fade away but changes its place.
